Environmental Responsibility

Willing to demonstrate that its commitment to the environment is not just a fashion speech, Blue Ocean
Tour
decided to neutralize the emission of gases causing the greenhouse effect arising from the operation
of its office. It has been considered the sources of emissions, such as consumption of electricity, water,
fuel corresponding to the transport taken by the office employees to work and the trips by plane taken by
its executives.

Following the pattern set by global IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the body of scientific
affairs for the UN climate change, an inventory was conducted to calculate the annual amount of equivalent
carbon dioxide (CO2e) emitted. The CO2e is a measure used to compare emissions of many gases, based
on the global warming potential of each one of them.

To neutralize these emissions, resources were designed for planting the proper amount of seedlings of
native trees. The seedlings were planted in an area of permanent preservation through the program PJ-MORE.
This program aims to provide to the communities of young residents of the surrounding forest areas, the
possibilities of generating revenue from the sustainable coexistence with the environment. The youngsters
will be monitoring and restoring the seedlings of Blue Ocean Tour over the next two years to ensure they will
survive.

The concern of the company does not end there. Blue Ocean Tour is ready to offer tourists the chance to
neutralize their trips as well, complementing thus more part of the chain of carbon emission from its
operations.
