AROUND THE NATIONAL PARK

Day
1
Arrival at Lençóis, accommodation and
if there is time, sunset at Morro do Pai Inácio (Father
Inácio's Hill).
Right next to the BR-242 road, by car to a certain point, then
walking for about 15min to its top, at 1240m
of altitude. From there you have some of the most spectacular
views of Chapada, with series of flat mountains
that are so characteristic of this landscape. The end of the
day light enhances the beauty of the relief even
more. It is very windy up there, but nevertheless there are
plants and flowers. Overnight at Lençóis.

Day
2
After breakfast we´ll leave to:
Poço do Diabo (Devil's Pool).
Dark and it gives a really a weird sensation, with an almost
complete lack of visibility. Nevertheless, the
acids that give this color are not pollutants.
Optional (locally paid) - You have the option of practicing
abseiling and flying fox.
Pratinha
A balneary that is a real oasis in such arid area. The bottom
of the lake has countless micro-conchs, showing
that in the past there was a sea in this region. Pratinha river
formed many grottos in the limestone.
Stop for lunch (included)
Gruta Azul (Blue Grotto)
Short walking distance. By this time the sunrays start to enter
it and reach the water, creating magic colors.
Kids - there were many - remained surprisingly quiet admiring
this wonder. There is a connection between
this grotto and the lake, available only to specialized divers.
Lapa Doce Grotto
It’s the most beautiful grotto at Chapada Diamantina.
Come back in the end of the day. Overnight at Lençóis.

Day
3
After breakfast we will go to the Cachoeira da Fumaça
(Smoke Falls) - 340m drop. The wind spreads the
water and even carries it upwards, forming a curtain of droplets
- thus the name "smoke". Lunch box (included).
Return to Lençóis. Overnight at Lençóis.
(dinner not included).
For the ones who choose the Option 2 in the next day, the overnight
will be at Pousada Vale do Capão, that
certainly has one of the most beautiful views at Chapada Diamantina.

Day
4
Option 1 – Marimbus
Canoe Tour
After breakfast, we´ll leave t the Villagoe of Remanso
Near Andaraí, by he marshland called Marimbús,
formed
by São José river. Remanso was founded by Mr Manuelzinho,
who is still alive, and inhabited by his immense
family and friends (he had 21 children with his three wives).
We’ll have a tour by canoes through the river. Lunch
(included) at a farm near of some natural pools, which we can
take a refreshing bath. Transfer to Mucugê,
Accommodation at Pousada Mucugê, dinner (included) and
overnight.
Option 2 – Trail Capão-Guiné
After breakfast, we’ll start one of the most beautiful
treks in the National Park. It’s about 15km until Guiné
– a
village. During the trek, we pass through the beautiful altitude
fields “Gerais do Vieira” and “Gerais do Rio
Preto”.
We have the opportunity to catch sight of Pati Valley, which
is considered one of the most beautiful Valley in Brazil.
Lunch box (included) during the trek and in the end, transfer
to Mucugê, Accommodation at Pousada Mucugê,
dinner (included) and overnight.

Day
5
After breakfast, we leave to the:
Poço Encantado (Enchanted Pool)
One of the most visited places in Chapada, a pool of crystal
clear blue waters, formed on the limestone. The pool
is around 100m long and 50m wide, and with a maximum deep of
61m. Between April and the beginning of
September, especially in June and July, sunrays reach the surface
of the pool, which gives it an even more magic
atmosphere. At Poço Encantado, for conservation, swimming
is not allowed.
After lunch (included) we will have a time to swimming in the
river near by a waterfall.
Transfer to Mucugê, Dinner (included) and overnight at
Pousada Mucugê.

Day
6
After breakfast, transfer to the south of the National
Park of Chapada Diamantina. We’ll drive to Ibicoara to
know one of the most beautiful places at Chapada. With more
than 100 meters involved in an impressive
canyon, the “Cachoeira do Buracão” (Big hole
Waterfall), is one of the places that takes our breath away.
Lunch Box (included). Then we’ll go to Xique-Xique de
Igatu, a small village - our “Machu Picchu”. Overnight
at Pousada Pedras de Igatu. Dinner (included) and overnight.

7
After breakfast, transfer to Lençóis
in time for your bus, private transfer or plane.
